This frame (32x27cm) displays an iron arrowhead, iron fire starter and bronze Roman coin dated somewhere between 200AD to 1200AD. These ancient items are mounted into a picture frame that was specially prepared using a number of natural elements such as clay and hessian material to feature such items. We used  an authentic ancient Roman or Samarian roll out Seal dated about 500 BC- 100 AD to make the imprint featured in this frame.

Arrowheads Most arrowheads are very hard to categorise. Roman battlefields would have been littered with weapons from the roman armies, their allies and their enemies. Certainly most of what is found today is a mixture of Roman era, Dark Ages & Middle Ages from BC to about 1600 AD Today, most of the ancient iron arrowheads are coming from Eastern Europe, Many types and size of iron arrowheads were used over the centuries but to simplify matters there were only a few categories that all types would fall under, Anti-cavalry arrowheads were designed to bring down the horse along with the rider. Some of the arrowheads for this purpose were called swallow-tailed.  Anti-infantry arrowheads were another type are very broad compared to the armor piercing arrowheads. The amour piercing types are heavy narrow with sharp points, totally different to the anti-cavalry types.

Iron Fire Starters- Percussion fire starting is the method that seems most commonly to have been in use in the Roman and Viking Age. This method utilizes a piece of high-carbon steel and flint (or other hard stone to produce sharp edges, plus a flammable substance that will ignite with a low-temperature. Dated anywhere from 100 AD to 1000 AD
