Ancient Items Displayed in this Frame

This frame 35X42 CM displays three Roman
bronze brooch plates or fibular plates (without the pin), an ancient iron Key
and two Roman coins. These
ancient items are mounted into a picture frame that was specially prepared using
a number of natural elements such as clay and hessian material to feature such
items.
Broaches Fibulas
This is a
very handsome, decorative piece of ancient Roman bronze ornamentation. A fibula
was an ornamental pin the ancient Romans and Greeks used to pin their tunics and
cloaks together. It is the forerunner of the modern safety pin.
Dated
around 100-400 AD
Key Medieval dated
about 1400 AD. Locks and keys developed during medieval times were a result of
need for greater security. In some cases up to ten locks were fitted on a door.
Being a locksmith during ancient times was a very powerful occupation.
