This frame 40x45cm displays a Roman bronze  lock pin, key ring, Key and lock plate all dated about 100 - 300 AD  

We have Included ancient bronze metal fragments to help decorate this frame.

Many Romans kept their keys on their fingers, as their clothing did not have pockets. Locks and keys developed during roman times were a result of need for greater security. In some cases up to ten locks were fitted to a door. Being a locksmith during ancient times was a very prestigious occupation.
